I MATERIALS sono orali, iconografici e testuali, forniti come strumento di lavoro sul contenuto e come supporto linguistico. Per facilitare la comprensione delle informazioni e l elaborazione delle conoscenze i materiali sono stati semplificati e adattati a più livelli: nel lessico specifico della disciplina, che è introdotto con glossari e spiegazioni, in lingua italiana o in lingua straniera per i diversi livelli di competenza; nella frase, che è stata modificata tenendo in considerazione le competenze linguistiche. Le forme sintattiche più complesse (proposizioni relative, forme passive, costruzioni ipotetiche) sono state trasformate in forme più semplici; nel testo, che contiene le informazioni essenziali e a cui corrispondono specifiche attività. Tutti i materiali sono accompagnati da attività che possono essere svolte individualmente, in coppia o in gruppo con modalità diverse. Esercizi di diverse tipologie. Per esempio domande aperte, vero/falso, completamento di testo, abbinamento e risposta multipla. Analisi di una carta geo-storica. Le carte sono un importante risorsa per lo studio della storia e possono essere lette grazie a un sistema di simboli che si impara a decodificare. Le attività proposte guidano nell analisi delle carte, nell organizzazione, nella comprensione delle informazioni nonché nel loro uso per sviluppare ipotesi e giungere a conclusioni.
