CLIL - The Age of Majority

46 2. I soggetti giuridici clil - tHe age of majoRity dIrITTO AUDIO The age of majority is the threshold of adulthood as recognised or declared in law. It is the moment when minors cease to be considered children and assume legal control over their persons, actions, and decisions, thus terminating the control and legal responsibilities of their parents or guardian over them. Most countries set majority at 18. At the age of majority, teenagers acquire the right to: enter into binding contracts; buy or sell property, including real estate and stock; marry without the written consent of a parent, guardian, or judge; make or revoke a will; vote in national, state and local elections.
